Note: El-Akhawiyyeh or the Sisterhood of Mary (?) was prayer group of ladies that met once a week in the Abbey Church of Deir El-Sheer.
The medals which the members wear was put on upon entering the church. I remember my mother taking me to some of these, and
I remember some of the chants which they sang in adoration when the Host was presented
