View of Beirut and Airport, Lebanon

This is a photograph of Beirut and the Beirut International Airport. I took it one winter day from the veranda of my childhood home in Souk El-Gharb. The airport is on the left and part of Beirut appears on the right with the Mediterranean sea in the background (click to see a view of Beirut from the air).

I used to love to listen to Beethoven's Symphony No.6 in F, "Pastoral" (Op.68) against this scenery especially when storms brewed in the distance over the sea and made their way over the city and to me in the mountains.

To view photographs taken in the mountain, please follow these links looking down from home, the way Home, the street were I rode my bike, the neighborhood, my home , my grandparent/uncle's Hajjar Hotel (all five photographs were provided by kind courtesy of my friend, Nakhle Hajjar.)
